Volunteer Opportunities:
- The excitment is building!!! Our first build date is this Friday, October 15th. There are two build shifts. One from 8:00am- noon and one from 1:00pm-5:00pm. If you are interested in building please email your shift preference and if you need a ride to habitat@iowa.uiowa.edu. We will reply with an informational email about the build.
- The UI Habitat for Humanity campus chapter t-shirt competition has begun! We want any members who have an idea for this year’s tshirt to either 1)email it to eric-bigley@uiowa.edu if it is created electronically or 2) bring a paper copy to the next meeting. The members at the next meeting will vote on the tshirt and then tshirt voting will be conducted online either through orgsync or email from Oct. 25-Nov.1.
Here at the University of Iowa, you have two ways to get involved in Habitat for Humanity:
1. Being a part of the UI chapter (helping raise money and awareness)
2. Volunteering with the local affiliate (building homes, helping with building supplies, and helping around the office).
Coming to the meetings is the best way for our members to stay up-to-date on volunteer opportunities. However, as they arise, members will receive an email and dates/times will be posted here and on orgsync.
